The Last Song

I'm finally done reading this book. This book is perfect to read this summer and it was indeed a great read. It's like the book was made for me to read it, it has almost all the elements that interests me, summer, walks along the beach, late night talks, the sound of the ocean, music and a lot more. When I first saw the movie trailer for the book, I thought it was just another Nicholas Sparks' sad ending story, or that it was just a shallow one, but I stand corrected, it was way more than that, the flow of the events, the relationship between Ronnie and her Dad, Ronnie and her mother, Ronnie and Jonah, and most of all, the relationship between Ronnie and Will.. all of them are worth the read.

The book taught me to value family, friendship and love. It also taught me that second chances were indeed helpful in re-establishing relationships and commitments. I learned the fact that we all make mistakes but these mistakes don't represent the person, it's just one of the qualities behind the person, it is not the person per se, so we don't have to love the person any less due to his or her mistakes. All of us also make decisions, sometimes good and sometimes not, and these decisions were for us to face and not to hide from.

Right now, I want to watch the movie, not for the sake of comparing the book to it, or to criticize it, I want to watch to see if the pictures I created in my mind are somehow the same as that from the director's point of view. The good thing about this book is that, it's different from the other books of Nicholas Sparks, although I also cried and it's heartbreaking, the ending's a happy one.
